Help ID this electronic ignition My latest project came with electronic ignition, but I don't know what kind. The distributor rather looks like a standard Ford Sierra one, but the electonic module is a mystery to me.
Oct 20, 2020 · The metal-toothed key has pretty much gone the way of ash trays, hand-crank windows, and vinyl roofs. Perusing the dealership lot nowadays, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a vehicle with the old put-it-in-and-turn starting method. In its place is the now-common fob and button pairing. It’s actually pretty convenient and that’s probably why the widespread […]

These ignition modules may be used on multi cylinder engines if model ignition coils such as the Exciter, Modelectric or Gettig and having a primary winding ...
Dec 14, 2012 · There are some great choices for DIY aircraft electronic ignitions, the Megajolt with the Ford edis parts is a favorite of many hotrodders with reliable results, I intend on using that system coupled with a P-mag on my current aircraft, the future of E.I. in experimentals is promising.
When GM designed the high energy ignition (HEI), engineers combined the electronic module with a completely new design coil called an E-core or laminated core coil. The E-core cools the windings more efficiently because the coils are exposed to the air. This allows the coil designer to reduce the coil’s internal resistance.
On many COP-style engines the spark plug and ignition coil are mounted into a tube that is a part of the valve cover. Overtime the seal between the valve cover and that spark plug tube can fail, causing oil to leak in and fill up around the spark plug and ignition coil. This in turn can lead to spark plug and ignition coil failure.
I should have made a video when I replaced my points type distributor with a HEI distributor but this video is intended to show you what I did without taking...
Code 42 - Electronic Spark Timing Circuit (EST) Circuit Description. When the system is running on the Ignition Module, that is, no voltage on the by-pass line, the Ignition Module grounds the EST signal. The ECM expects to see no voltage on the EST line during this condition.
6 AMU for electronic ignition is probably not high on our list of upgrades. But it's neat that they're The electronic ignition on my ride (no points, no distributor, but fixed timing) does not use any I had been waiting for the E-Mag because it doesn't require external power. But after two years of hearing...
Mar 27, 2020 · The back of the ignition switch has four terminals, which are the Battery, Start, Ignition and Accessory. The procedure for wiring an ignition switch is as follows: Step 1: Disconnect the negative battery terminal To begin with, the negative battery terminal must be disconnected before locating the positive power lead to the switch.
The Electronic Points Box keeps the electricity flowing across the plug for a full 26° of crankshaft rotation ensuring complete combustion. MSD offers two Pro Mag 44 Electronic Points Boxes. This Box lets you select an rpm limit to help the engine in event of driveline failure or excessive wheel spin.
Feb 19, 2016 · Kirk used to sell the point saver, which is now discontinued and the upgraded part now is a Trandenser II Electronic Ignition System. Price seems quite reasonable Trandenser II Electronic Ignition System Due to the miniaturization of transistorized circuits of high current capability, a complete electronic ignition system can now be made to fit ...

Oct 25, 2015 · The Interceptor ignition was originally by a Lucas K2F magneto. I have never had much luck with magnetos so I did a little research and found the Thorspark electronic ignition system from Sussex Motorcycles. The system cost £150. The ignition trigger fits in the magneto end cap in place of the points.
