The low coolant level in the radiator surge tank may be due to the fill process at the assembly plant, which cannot purge all of the air from the cooling system and the surge tank. After the engine has been thermally cycled, air rises and causes the coolant to become lower than when initially filled.
The Duramax PCV design vents the crankcase pressure into the intake. As a byproduct of the process, engine oil is introduced into the turbocharger. Over time, this engine oil coats the inside of the intercooler and intercooler tubing. The primary concern is that large quantities of oil settle in the intercooler boots, causing them to rapidly ...
If oil vapors in the engine’s crankcase are excessive, or the oil is dirty or contaminated, excessive CO emissions can result. Dirty or contaminated oil is easily rectified by an oil change. Excess crankcase vapors flow can be caused by an incorrect PCV valve or by serious internal engine damage such as worn-out piston rings.

The WIF sensor location is at the bottom of the OEM fuel filter housing. The fuel filter housing is used to contain the captured water from the fuel. When the water level reaches a certain point, the WIF sensor alerts you to the presence of water. The electronic control module provides a reference signal to the water-in-fuel sensor.
This specific P0523 engine code is triggered when the PCM sees too high of a value in the engine oil pressure sender/sensor. The oil pressure sensor operates on a 5 volt circuit. Generally this engine code will be triggered when the voltage is 4.6 or higher.
The mass air flow (MAF) sensor, part of your vehicle’s electronic fuel injection system, is responsible for calculating the total amount of air entering the engine. A faulty MAF sensor can cause your vehicle to run too rich or run too lean. You’ll notice if the tailpipes eject black smoke or when the engine runs rough or backfires.
Did you check the oil level in the engine? Make sure the vehicle is on level ground and shut off for at least 10 minutes to allow all the oil to drain into the pan. Pull out the dip stick, lean it off and re-check the oil level on the stick. I always do this twice to make sure. It may be that simple of a fix. It may be the sensor sender, the gauge, or faulty or lose wiring.
